Skill: Identifying quadrilaterals (rhombuses, rectangles, and others) by their angles and sides Fact Fluency: practice all multiplication facts from 0-9 Vocabulary: plane shape: a shape on a flat surface angle: formed by two rays that share an endpoint vertex: a shared endpoint right angle: an angle that forms a square corner polygon: a closed plane shape that is made up of line segments that meet only at their endpoints intersecting lines: lines that cross or meet perpendicular lines: lines that cross or meet to form a right angle parallel lines: lines that appear to never cross or meet and are always the same distance apart quadrilaterals: (see picture below) | Homework: 12 problems due THURSDAY (no homework will result in a pink card). We will have homework throughout April, with the last homework due on April 26th. I will also periodically send home some optional extra practice. You DO NOT need to send this back to school unless you have a question about it. This is simply extra practice of the skills we are learning in class and does not take the place of the regular homework. Please practice simple addition and subtraction flash cards with your students to ensure that they have mastered their facts. Doubles facts and adding 10's and 100's are crucial. This simple skill is a bridge to higher level problem solving! |

The Math JourneyI want to remind you that math is a journey. There will be good day and there will be tough days. Along our journey, we will make discoveries and use past mathematical experiences to guide us through problem solving. Please join us on our journey and ask questions as you have them. Your student has the capability to make great growth this year! |
